Education is the cornerstone of lasting change. We work to remove barriers that prevent girls and vulnerable children from accessing quality formal education while providing mentorship that builds character, confidence, and faith in God.
Detailed activities and approaches:
- Scholarship and School Support Program: We identify vulnerable girls and children at risk of dropping out due to poverty, early marriage, or orphanhood. We provide full or partial school fees, uniforms, scholastic materials (books, pens, sanitary pads for school attendance), and nutritional support where needed to ensure consistent school attendance and completion of primary and secondary education.
- Mentorship and Discipleship Circles: Regular small-group mentoring sessions for adolescent girls combine academic guidance, life skills training, and Bible study. Topics include goal-setting, self-esteem, resisting peer pressure, and discovering God’s purpose for their lives. Trained female mentors (many former beneficiaries) lead these sessions in schools and community centers.
- Community Sensitization and Advocacy: We conduct door-to-door campaigns, parent meetings, and school-based talks to challenge cultural norms that devalue girls’ education. We partner with local leaders and churches to promote the message that educating girls is a biblical and community investment.
- Back-to-School Initiatives: For girls who have dropped out due to pregnancy or other challenges, we offer counseling, re-enrollment support, and discipleship to help them return to school with renewed hope.
Through this pillar, we aim to increase school retention rates, improve academic performance, and raise a generation of educated, faith-filled young women ready to lead.
